I've stayed away from the AM for years, ever since I noticed that the servers would back up and fall over if people had it open.

Any idea if the resource usage on this has changed?

No, I can't comment on that. It happens that I open it, but only for a brief time period. I haven't traces any older version of SSMS so I don't know whether the SQL has changed. However, judging by the few wait types in the wait types table, I wouldn't be surprised of the SQL submitted by AM is pretty much the same since 2008 (which is when we got this new AM, as I recall) and that was the wait types we had back then...

Does anyone have an idea what the 5th empty graph is for in the overview?

This is really bugging me and my team.

Just in case anyone else was wondering, I managed to find the answer to my own question. It's a bug and has been removed from later releases.

"Removed empty chart (5th chart) in Overview section"
